Roy W. Gibler 1963-2019

Roy W. Gibler, 81, of Paris, MO passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.

Roy was born on May 8, 1937 in Thompson, MO, the son of Fred and Clara Smith Gibler. He married Mary Ann Bolin on April 19, 1963 in Moberly, MO and she survives at the home. Other survivors include his two sons; Alan (Dee) Gibler & Roger (Tina) Gibler; Three grandchildren; Krystina (Dakota) Schleiemacher, Kelsie Gibler, and Calista Gibler; two great-grandchildren; Ellie Schleiemacher and Hunter Schleiemacher; three brothers; David (Linda) Gibler, Nelson (Michelle) Gibler, Earl (Marilynn) Gibler; six sisters; Ruby (Alvin) Miller, Doris (Russell) Taylor, Marian (Jim) Hancock, Margie Kitchen, Wilma Vincent, Carla Sue (Mike) Green. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Frank Gibler, and a sister; Vera Barnes.

Roy served in the US Army from September 1960 to September 1962. He also worked for MODOT for 27 ½ years where he was a crew leader and later retired in December of 1998. Roy was a very helpful, honest, and very hard working man, but he most enjoyed raising livestock and farming. Some of his hobbies included but not limited to: Hunting especially in Colorado, fishing, bird watching and squirrels, collecting arrowheads all of which was done in the country where he loved to be the most. His green thumb was an asset to his garden and the many trees he loved to grow on his farm. Another love of Roy’s was restoring old Allis Chalmers tractors and one John Deer. His one true love was for his family and his dog Buddy.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Agnew Funeral home in Paris with Pastor Micah Panjada officiating. Visitation will be from 11 until time of service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Madison.
