LETTER FROM THE PARIS CHAMBER PRESIDENT~~~Jo Reynolds

October 29, 2018

Greetings!

Great Pumpkin Fall Festival – considering the weather did NOT cooperate with us this year, we still had a successful event. You just have to know that the law of averages will catch you sooner or later when you are planning outside events – and it affected many, many communities – even the ones who chose to reschedule. Work on the October 12, 2019 event will begin shortly after the first of the year – watch for details because we have some EXCITING things coming – and the 4-H Halloween Walk will follow our event that evening. What a wonderful way to involve our community – from our youth to our seniors!

We are also hoping to plan a couple special events for the spring – so watch our website, the paper and our Face Book page for upcoming details. If you are interested in volunteering, have thoughts or suggestions, please let us know. We are better when we work together.

We are looking for volunteers and participants for upcoming events - contact the Chamber if you have an interest in helping with, being a participant, or volunteer for any of the following:

 Downtown Paris – this group is making progress – there are many opportunities to become involved – there will be community meetings scheduled in the near future, watch for announcements! Lots of opportunities to get involved in an exciting time for Paris!

 Christmas Is Caring – THURSDAY, DECEMBER 6. THEME THIS YEAR: A HOMETOWN CHRISTMAS. o Gingerbread House contest; Light Guessing Contest, Best Dressed theme Window Downtown, Soup/Sandwich supper, Silent Auction, Santa House, Best Yard with theme, and more! o Parade: Let’s make this our biggest and best yet! Line up 4:30 pm, parade starts at 5:30 pm promptly.

Forms for registration and/or rules, can be picked up at the Chamber Office or on the Chamber website.

We are proud to partner with the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry to create a new health program that offers potential savings to businesses with 50 or fewer eligible employees. This new program is called the Missouri Chamber Federation Benefit Plan. It uses an innovative structure that enables smaller employers to join together to share in the overall claims risk. This creates a larger self-funded pool providing greater stability and financial protection backed by Anthem’s stop loss coverage. This is called a multiple employer welfare arrangement, or MEWA….must be a Chamber member to qualify.

Changes coming to Chamber – we will be relocating our office on Main Street after the Christmas holidays. Watch for the changes coming downtown!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR FFA TEAM AT NATIONALS.

Be careful out there during deer season – both in the woods and on the road! Keep it save!
