The Monroe County Courthouse front lawn was the place to be on a hot Saturday afternoon, August 4, 2018. Senior Citizen Community Center sponsored the Ice Cream/Candidate Speaking/Auction, with Tara Garside managing the event.
Volunteers served a long line of different varieties of ice cream as well as different cakes to approximately 70 in attendance. While everyone got a little cooled off by enjoying their ice cream, candidates spoke to the crowd.
Those candidates that spoke were: Dr. Ed Andrea for 6th District Congress; Christina Buie for Monroe County Clerk; John Russell for Monroe County Prosecuting Attorney; Chrissy Graupman for Monroe County Collector; Michael Wilson for Associate Circuit Judge; Sheila Jurgesmeyer for Monroe County Treasurer; Mike Minor for Presiding Commissioner; Sandra McDowell for Missouri State Auditor; Lori Decker for Monroe County Recorder; Ed Mitchell for Monroe County Recorder; John Paul Tomko for Missouri State Representative; Talley Kendrick for Monroe County Prosecuting Attorney; Michelle Callison for Monroe County Recorder; Courtland Sykes for U.S. Senate; Jeanie Riddle for Missouri State Senate; Ayanna Shivers for Missouri State Senate; Sidney Wheelan for Associate Circuit Judge; Ron Staggs for Jim Hansen for 40 District House; Byran Nichols for Sam Graves for 6th District Congress; and Rachel Shepard for 10th Circuit Court Judge.
Each candidate donated an auction item and each item was auctioned off after the candidates spoke.
Don't forget Tuesday, August 7, get out and vote!
