Old Accounts

A trip to the mailbox towards the end of the month reveals the bank statement, the power bills, water bill, and whatever other accounts we may have out there. As I rode back to the house, my little red 4-wheeler box had a nice bundle of them in it.

My thoughts ran to a time, sometime soon, when all my accounts would be settled and there would be no more worries of them any more as I would be at home with my Lord. The old song speaks of an old account that was settled long ago. I hope you have settled your sin debt and the account retrieved from the mailbox has amount due 00.
The word speaks of making a few deposits as we go along; add to our faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will neither be barren or unfruitful.
