School’s Out: Baseball and Brown Bags
Children in the Paris area have an answer for the Monday morning blues: Baseball and Brown Bags. During the summer, the Paris R-II school district holds an informal baseball game and brown bag lunch on the school grounds between the high school and elementary school, across from the Administration/Agriculture Building.
According to school superintendent Aaron Vitt, Baseball and Brown Bags began in the summer of 2016. This year, it will be held each Monday at 11 a.m., excepting July 3, through the end of July. The fun begins with a game of catch followed by a baseball game. No one keeps score because the emphasis is on fun. Vitt said, “We have been fortunate in that we have a couple of junior high age and high school age kids who come and play with the younger kids as well. “ The school district also provides the brown bag lunch.
Vitt invites the area children to come have fun and food at the games this summer.
