Mark Twain Old Threshers Show Returns to Paris This July
The annual Mark Twain Old Threshers Show is set to return July 9, 10, and 11, 2026, bringing with it a celebration of history, heritage, and hands-on demonstrations of early American life. Held at the Paris Fairgrounds, the event offers visitors a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience the tools, trades, and traditions of generations past.
This year's featured tractor highlights include Minneapolis Moline and Oliver models, alongside featured Fairbanks gas engines. Organizers emphasize that all other brands of tractors, gas engines, and steam engines are welcome, making the event a diverse showcase of antique machinery and restoration work.
Throughout the weekend, attendees can enjoy a wide range of demonstrations and activities. Highlights include antique farming operations, rope-making, early-day gas engines and farm tractors, saw and shingle mill operations, corn shelling, threshing, steam power displays, and hay baling. A flea market and craft area will also be open, offering unique finds and handmade goods for visitors to browse.
Food will be available on-site at the Old Threshers Food Booth, serving crowd favorites such as pulled pork, hamburgers, hot dogs, and walking tacos. Guests can also enjoy a variety of cold beverages including soda, tea, bottled water, lemonade, and sports drinks.
Admission to the event is $10, with a button that grants access to all shows and events throughout the weekend. Children 12 and under are admitted free with an adult, and those under 16 must have parental supervision. Organizers encourage guests to bring lawn chairs for comfortable seating, as programming may vary depending on circumstances. Handicapped transportation will be available, and attendees are reminded that alcohol is not permitted on the grounds.
Camping will be available throughout the weekend, with electrical hookups, showers, restrooms, and food stands provided. Reservations can be made by contacting Paris City Hall at 660-327-4334 or Ronnie Fields at 573-721-5703 after 4:30 p.m.
Vendors are also encouraged to participate in this year's show. Crafters, resellers, consultants, bakers, and garage sale enthusiasts are all welcome. Spaces are available for just $45 for the entire event, which includes admission to the fairgrounds. Indoor space is limited and fills quickly, while outdoor space is more flexible. Interested vendors can contact Darin Maupin at 660-833-7962, email marktwainoldthreshers@gmail.com, or reach out via Facebook Messenger.
