Paris had little trouble in moving to 1-0 on the season with a 66-0 opening week victory over Keytesville-Brunswick. Paris dominated in all facets of the game, leading 22-0 at the end of the first quarter, 44-0 at halftime, and 60-0 after three quarters, ultimately reaching a final score of 66-0 with a lone touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Sawyer Clements got the scoring started for Paris with a 31-yard touchdown run. Chase Kendrick joined the action with a 9-yard touchdown reception from Quarterback Luke Ensor. Ensor would complete two more touchdown passes, one to Payden Crain from 24 yards out and then the other to Logan Mitchell from 33 yards. Brad Skinner added three touchdown runs. Kristian Harvey rushed in for a 46-yard touchdown, and Spencer Minks closed out the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown run, his first Varsity score. The Coyotes' offense was balanced, completing 7/13 passes for 128 yards and three touchdowns. The ground game was solid as well, churning out 201 yards on 20 carries.
The Coyote defense was dominant throughout the game, only allowing Keytesville 20 total yards for the game. The Coyotes forced three turnovers, two fumbles and one interception.
"It was a good first game for us. We set the tone early and took control of the game. From that point, we cruised and provided many kids with a quality Varsity experience. We did a lot of things well, but, of course, we have room for improvement. We had a few drops in the passing game and some missed assignments that we need to clean up, but overall, great way to start the season."
The Coyotes will host Orrick next week at Warbritton Field.
