Reservations for the Annual Halloween Walk Now Open
June 04, 2025

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Mark Twain Lake is excited to announce the annual Halloween Walk will be held Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18, in the Indian Creek Campground. Reservations for camping participants, campsites 96-177, is now open. You must decorate your site to camp in the event area. Please remember this is a family-friendly event, so plan your decorating accordingly. Gates to campsites 96-177 will be closed to pedestrian traffic during the event. All other areas will be open for vehicular traffic. If you have any questions, please call us prior to reserving a campsite.
At this time, as part of upcoming infrastructure improvements, the Nighthawk Loop campsites will be unavailable during this reservation period. Campsites numbered 66 through 95 are affected by this closure. Should the schedule allow, these sites may reopen for reservations.
Meanwhile, you can still book campsites at Frank Russell and Ray Behrens campgrounds. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to upgrade our facilities.
Reservations can only be made at www.recreation.gov or by calling 877-444-6777. More details regarding the event will be announced as they become available. Follow us on Facebook at Mark Twain Lake - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. We look forward to seeing you this year and all your family-friendly decorating ideas!
