Christmas is Caring 2019
By Diana Hammond
Christmas is Caring has been a tradition in Paris for almost 50 years. It is supported by businesses, organizations, and individuals throughout the year. The CIC committee uses the funds to provide clothing, toys, coats and shoes for children in need in the Paris area, including foster kids from Monroe county and those placed in Monroe county from other areas. The program also provides groceries to provide a holiday meal for families in the area who qualify.
Applications are currently available at both the Paris NECAC office and DFS office. Applications are due by November 4th for Toys and Clothing. Toy and Clothing applications that are not received by the deadline will be referred to toys for tots. Applications for food only will be accepted until December 4th.
Adopt a Child cards will be out in the TPNB and Regional Missouri Bank as well as the Paris Pharmacy starting on November 4th. Anyone who would like to adopt a child for Christmas is Caring will be asked to provide a new set of clothes, underwear and socks for their child. All gifts purchased must be returned to the Baptist Church by 5 pm on Monday, November 18th. If you are unable to deliver your gift to the Baptist Church by the deadline, you may call Diana Hammond at 573-881-8963 to arrange for pick up.
Christmas is Caring distribution will be from 9-12 on Friday, December 13th. If you cannot be there to pick up your gifts or food, please arrange for someone to pick them up for you. You will have to call Maggie at NECAC (660-327-4110) to give permission to her for someone else to pick up your items.
Cash donations can be taken to Regional Missouri Bank (food only) or to Regina in the First Baptist Church office (food and toys). Gifts of new toys may be taken to the First Baptist Church.
The Christmas is Caring team would like to wish you and yours a Blessed Holiday Season!
