MISSOURI SEN. ROY BLUNT TO HOST PRESS EVENT IN PARIS SATURDAY

June 21, 2019

Sen. Blunt will make stops in Boonville, Brusnwick and Paris.

Agriculture will be discussed in Paris, Mo at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Clint Chandler's office (Monroe County Farm Bureau) 25976 Business Highway 24.

Blunt is the son of dairy farmers and a longtime supporter of Missouri farm families.

This month, Blunt applauded the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) selection of the Kansas City area as the new location for the Economic Research Service and National Institute of Food and Agriculture. These USDA agencies will bring hundreds of good-paying jobs to the area and enhance Missouri’s role as a national leader in ag research.

Blunt also worked to include several Missouri priorities in the FY2019 government funding bill. The legislation prioritized rural broadband expansion, increased resources for agriculture research, and includes grants for water infrastructure projects in rural communities.

Blunt voted in favor of the 2018 Farm Bill, which made essential investments in rural America to expand access to high-speed broadband and improve infrastructure.

Cancer research will be discussed in Boonville at 11:15 a.m. while flood recovery is the topic in Brunswick at 1:45 p.m..
