Did you know that you may qualify for services that would assist you in becoming self-sufficient?

The Monroe County NECAC office held their Open House, Wednesday, May 15, 2019 to introduce the community with their beautiful building and services available.

Monroe County NECAC Office offers many community programs such as: ways to get a GED; pre-employment and career readiness training; life skills; family support; case management and target coaching.

Affordable housing is a goal of NECAC’s housing rental assistance program. This program can help you with rent assistance or assist in purchasing your own home.

If you are a low income home owner or renter; who are elderly or physically challenged; the Weatherization program would assist in lowering your energy bills and become more efficient.

Emergency assistance and energy crisis interventions are available through NECAC. Also available is financial and credit counseling.

Health programs are available to you as well. In-Home services and Senior Care services.

“I really enjoy serving on the board,” said Board Member of five years, Peggy Hultz from Madison.

NECAC services a 12 county area not-for-profit social service.

Maggie Middleton, Monroe County Service Coordinator said, “There are several people that doesn’t know what services are available to them and just what they may qualify for!”

Assistance starts with a comprehensive intake/assessment/referral process which helps determine eligibility for NECAC’s many programs.

An interview is first conducted to assess the families’ needs. Those needs are then addressed by providing referrals to NECAC program and services offered by other agencies as per the NECAC Central Office brochure.

We offer job search support and career readiness training.

“NECAC is a good cause and helps a lot of people,” said Board Member of eight years, Maxine Jones of Holliday.

NECAC’s mission is to rise above poverty by providing services to enable each individual to function at his or her own improved financial, physical, mental, and social level.
