Donations Needed for City Hall Building's Roof
By Robin Gregg
Many of you read about our Then and Now section regarding the Paris City Hall building which was the old School House on Main Street. I've spoken with Marjorie Rehkow since publishing the article and have some exciting news to share!
Since publishing the article there has been a lot of interest in supporting replacing the roof to help save the building. Many community members want to keep the history alive and use what possibilities the building could provide to the community in the future.
The Downtown Paris Partnership, INC Board has agreed to facilitate all donations at this time so people would have a place to donate towards the new roof. If the board raises enough funds, then the roof will be replaced, if not, then the board will contact all who has donated to see if they would like their donation returned to them or kept for another renovation project in Paris. The time frame has yet to be decided upon.
You may make donations at either Regional Missouri Bank or TPNB Bank in Paris or City Hall and on the check please mark City Hall Building. A link will soon be made for electronic donations.
