Roy E. “Buddy” Mongler, 78, of Paris, formerly of Mexico, MO passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Monroe Manor Nursing Home in Paris.

Buddy was born on July 24, 1940 in Mexico, MO the son of Charles Edward and Alice Margaret Herbst Mongler. He married Sheila White on February 14, 1997 at the Midway Christian Church and she preceded him in death on November 13, 1998. He is survived by his son, Eddie (Beth) Mongler of Mexico, MO; a sister, Helen Jobe of Texas and special friend Patti Hillard of Paris. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a lifelong farmer in Audrain County where he also raised cattle. He was a member of the Midway Christian Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and past president of the Little Dixie Shrine Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends. Buddy had wonderful memories, along with some unforgettable stories from his time spent at the Missouri State Fair. He, especially enjoyed, taking his camper to the fair the week before. This time spent with friends would always put a smile on his face.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Paris, MO with Elaine Koontz officiating.
