David C. Vaughn, Jr. 1944-2019

David C. Vaughn, Jr., 74, of Fulton, MO passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at University Hospital, Columbia, with his family at his bedside.

David was born on April 24, 1944, in Paris, MO, the son of D.C. and Elsie Gerster Vaughn. He is survived by three sons: David C. Ill (Michelle Cantrell), Dru (Dawn), and Darren; nine grandchildren: David C. Vaughn IV, Andrew ( mily) Vaughn, Collin Vaughn, Afton Taylor (Caleb) Walker, Jaime Vaughn, Jessica (Craig Clark) Vaughn, Megan Vaughn, Bailey Vaughn, and McKenzie Vaughn; and two great granddaughters: Georgia Walker and Faith Clark. He is survived by a sister, Ann Carter, as well as nephews Geoffrey (Susan) Carter, Dr. Jon Carter (Dr. Hayley) and niece Elizabeth (Jason) Loughran. Also surviving is Doris Ann Vaughn along with a great niece and nephews, cousins and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and an infant sister.

David was a man of faith. For most of his life he was a Presbyterian, but at the time of his death, he was an active member of New Hope Church in Calwood. During his life, he was a farmer, a business owner, a salesman, truck driver, and delivery person. Although he was a man of few words, he loved his family and prayed for them daily. He enjoyed the out doors, especially hunting and fishing. He was an avid reader, and he enjoyed conservative talk shows.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 11:00 am at Walnut Grove Cemetery with John Grimmett officiating.
