Marvin Albert Hultz 1934-2019
It is with great remorse we announce the passing of Marvin Albert Hultz, 84 of Madison on March 7th, 2019 at the Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO.
Marvin was also known by Dad, PaPa, Yogi, Haney, and Old Fart; but whatever you called him, we know he will be fondly remembered by us all.
Marvin was born at his family home in Monroe County Missouri on March 29th 1934, and he proudly served our country in the United States Army.
He has been the ultimate example of a tenacious provider through his many career choices. Serving his family faithfully through the years while school bus driving in Paris Missouri, owning a gas station, meat processing for Banquet Foods, delivery driving for Jim Beam, and finally retiring after 25 years in the Maintenance Department at AP Greens. Beside these official positions, he was also a hard as nails farmer, casino enthusiast, hay baler, cattle raiser, gardener, card player, and mechanic. He was a resourceful, straight shooting, problem solver with a mischievous streak and a crooked grin no one could resist.
He has flung aside this earthly dust, and now will rise to live among his parents Margaret Maud Keith Hultz , and Albert Roy Hultz, and brothers Martin, Joe, and Jim who have paved the way before him.
He is survived by brothers Lloyd, Casey, Vic, his wife Peggy, and children JD, Deb, Mike, Sandy, Patty, Cindy, Melinda, Tony, Brian, 11 grandchildren, and umpteen great-grandchildren, who will sorely miss Marvin. However, the companionship, life lessons, practical advice, and countless shared meals have proven to sear Marvin’s love into all who knew him.
Join with us in remembering this great man loving, hard working, and ornery as he was.
