South Fork Recreation Area Open for Public Use

May 03, 2021

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Mark Twain Lake encourages visitors using the South Fork Recreation Area to use caution when traveling in the area, as heavy equipment operation and material hauling will be occurring along the primary access road within the area. Visitors should expect minor periodic delays due to required traffic controls for public safety purposes.

Furthermore, boaters utilizing the South Fork branch of the lake should not enter the identified construction zone, nor approach the vicinity of the haul vessels and the anchored floating work platform currently operating in the area.
