Harold Thomas Hughes 1928-2019
Harold Thomas Hughes, 90, of Paris, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Monroe Manor Nursing Home in Paris.
Harold was born on March 31, 1928 in Stoutsville, Missouri, the son of Charley D. and Anna Mae Thompson Hughes. He married Thelma Ruth DeOrnellas on April 8, 1956 in Paris, Missouri and she survives at the home. In that union they had two children; Brenda Joyce Wormington of Strother and Thelma Diane (Tracy) Wilson of Paris; seven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charles and James Alvin Hughes.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Harold and his wife farmed in Monroe County for many years. He enjoyed hunting, especially “coon” hunting, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Paris.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 14, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Paris with Reverend Wesley Hammond officiating. Visitation will be from 12 until time of service on Monday at the Church. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Paris.
