Repairs Necessitate Temporary Closure of Northbound U.S. Route 61 in Hannibal

HANNIBAL – A temporary closure of northbound U.S. Route 61 in Hannibal is scheduled for the early morning hours of March 26. The road will be closed from midnight to 2:00 a.m. in order to complete work on temporary steel plates over the driving surface. The road will be closed between Warren Barrett Drive and Market Street.

While there will be no signed detour, traffic will be routed to Warren Barrett Drive to Missouri Route 79 and back onto to U.S. Route 36. Message boards and signage will be placed at various locations to assist motorists.

Motorists will need to use caution while traveling through the area during these times. Remember to obey all work zone signs and personnel, and put down your cell phone to help eliminate distractions.
