On Sunday, the James O’Donnell Life Celebration Home, located on 545 Stoddard Street, Monroe City, hosted a Christmas Open House followed by a Candlelight Memorial Service.

Those in attendance at the Christmas Open House met with staff and observed renovations to the recently purchased Yager Kendrick Funeral Home facility. The James O’Donnell Funeral Home of Hannibal purchased the facility in late May of this year. Refreshments were served and live music was enjoyed by all.

The public was invited to a Candlelight Memorial Service immediately following the open house. Father P. Gregory Oligschlaeger of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Reverend Olivia Earlywine of The United Methodist Church of Monroe City lead the service. The Holy Rosary School Choir and the Monroe City High School Vocal Music Department provided special music throughout the ceremony.

Owner Jimmy O’Donnell made closing remarks during the service, thanking those present in remembrance of their lost loved ones. He and the James O’Donnell Life Celebration Home Staff look forward to serving the Monroe City community and continuing their established tradition of service to the area since 1895.
