Mad Scientist of St. Louis Visited the Paris Public Library

July 24, 2018

The Mad Scientist of St. Louis recently visited the Paris Public Library on Monday, July 23rd as a result of the 2018 Libraries rock summer programming. Throughout the summer libraries throughout Monroe and Randolph counties have been working hard to promote this fun summer initiative. Hundreds of children have attended programming, crafting events, story times, and special presenters like the Mad Scientist to help promote reading, improve literacy, and prevent the summer slide before going back to school.

Over sixty children attended this special "Sounds Like Science" program in the Roegge Room where they learned how to create their own instruments, how instruments work, and learned the basics of sound.

The event was paid for in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) administered by the Missouri State Library and awarded to Little Dixie Regional Libraries.
