Congratulations to all elected candidates. I look forward to working with you and wish you the best.
I would like to take a minute to personally THANK each Monroe and Ralls County Veteran. Thank you for your service and for representing your families, friends, and communities. Happy Veteran’s Day to each of you.

I wanted to reach out this week and to praise my team for all of their hard work since COVID hit our small towns. It’s very hard to meet our customers, subscribers, and businesses face to face and everyone has been so understanding and willing to support us however they can.

Since our merge in July, we have been able to pivot our focus and still make our local business brands and our brand viable. We are the BEST Success Story of the Year with the Lewis County Press. I could not be prouder. We’ve made up significant losses over the last 2.5 years since I came to Monroe County.

Unfortunately, we’ve had to adapt to the world and make more presence online vs in print. I realize this will affect several of our readers, and I want to apologize for that. We are doing everything we can to keep going as long as possible for our print followers. We are NOT a printing facility, we contract our printing with another company, which means our hands are tied with schedules.

There just aren’t enough hours in a day or space in the paper to share everything we would like to. We have to prioritize what does get printed and sometimes, that doesn’t make everyone happy. That is what makes online so great, because, we can share a whole lot more on there and have the news in your hands as soon as it happens or when we receive it. Thank you to everyone for being flexible in helping us with this.

We can personalize ads for our customers in print, online, and website with custom designs. There are three things we look at each week, Reader Perspectives; Advertising Sponsors Perspectives; and Circulation Numbers. We are working to improve our weaknesses, such as errors and/or email issues. We want to bring you the best local news we can and be the news source you can trust.

Thank you to everyone who supports the Monroe-Ralls newspaper and website.
